The Contortionist announce Our Bones EP, share “Early Grave” music video: Stream
Progressive metallic act The Contortionist will return with a brand new EP, Our Bones, out August ninth by way of Leisure One/Good Battle Music. The band has additionally shared a music video for the brand new tune “Early Grave” (watch under).
Originating from concepts that guitarist Robby Baca would play in the course of the band’s sound checks, the four-song Our Bones EP was recorded by producer/engineer John Douglass and is the primary new music from the band since their 2017 full-length, Clairvoyant.
The one, “Early Grave”, is a technical composition, constructed from Baca’s central riff and organized at the back of the van whereas the band was on tour. The video for the tune begins with a message from the band: “That is for everybody who has shared their story with us.”
“As soon as I used to be lastly in a position to get Robby to document that riff, we began piecing collectively the tune at the back of the van, whereas on tour in Europe,” vocalist Michael Lessard remarked in a press launch.
Relating to the EP, he added: “We attempt to do one thing totally different with all the things we create. With our albums, we are likely to work with overarching interconnected themes. Our Bones is a departure. It supplied a possibility to dive into some issues we haven’t had an opportunity to discover, and the shorter EP format allowed us to be hyper-focused on every tune.”
