Self-described “loss of life disco” band Demise Valley Excessive are set to unveil a brand new covers EP titled Duel this week. Upfront of its launch, the band has unleashed a canopy of goth pioneers Christian Demise’s “Cavity – First Communion” that includes Deftones singer Chino Moreno.
The genesis of the quilt music took place when Demise Valley Excessive have been on tour with Moreno’s band Crosses again in 2014. “We have been on tour with Crosses on the East Coast and have been all backstage hanging out,” Demise Valley Excessive’s Reyka Osburn informed Revolver. “Chino had some music enjoying within the background for post-show vibes, and when this Christian Demise music got here on, I burst over to their room. All of us fawned over our love for this specific document, Solely Theater of Ache.”
Osburn continued, “By the tip of ‘Cavity-First Communion,’ [Moreno] says, ‘We gotta play this music earlier than the tip of the tour!’ ‘Performed,’ I firmly agree and added, ‘We must always document it!’ He checked out me with eyes ablaze and exclaimed, ‘We will do something!”
