I keep in mind driving over a mountain with my mom, she was within the
passenger seat and we had been being mauled and cuddled and battered and
fried by sound; collectively. We had been collectively experiencing one thing
beforehand unimaginable, and we had been going through the identical path, and we
had been shifting via area and time realizing geographic
vacation spot a way forward would deliver an finish. And the sound
surrounded us, and for as soon as our mutual silence was loaded with good.
As a result of we had been within the presence of one another, and we knew a lot
about how we had failed one another (it wasn’t a thriller any extra), and
we knew how we had maimed others once we frightened an excessive amount of about
ourselves, how we had contributed to the faults of others just by
focusing in as an alternative of out. Our mutual silences had been laden with what
that would solely be referred to as love. I used to listen to love in music till I
discovered to listen to love in sound.
