Jeff Gibbs’ movie, produced by Michael Moore, takes a pop at inexperienced, liberal A-listers reminiscent of Al Gore – however doesn’t dare criticise Greta Thunberg
Gibbs has a cheeky behavior of going backstage at music festivals that solemnly declare themselves to be utilizing 100% renewable power, solely to seek out that the flowery array of photo voltaic panels behind the tent is sufficient to energy a single bass guitar. The remainder of the power is offered by simply plugging into the shameful outdated electrical energy grid, offered by fossil fuels. He sees it as symptomatic of the mainstream environmental motion, operating on delusional piety.
All of the inexperienced, liberal A-listers – Invoice McKibben, Al Gore, Van Jones, Robert F Kennedy Jr – are attacked on this movie as a pompous and complacent high-priest caste of the environmental motion, who’re shilling for a fossil gas business that has sneakily taken them over. (Though it needs to be mentioned that, for all his radical bravado, Gibbs doesn’t dare criticise Thunberg.)
Gibbs doesn’t point out nuclear and – slightly lamely, maybe – has no clear lesson or ethical, aside from the necessity to take a fiercely essential have a look at the environmental institution. Nicely, it’s all the time helpful to re-examine a sacred cow.

What is occurring to the Guardian? The opposite day they praised seafront property growth, now they’re praising a film which trashes renewables.
Have greens secretly hated renewables all alongside, and all of a sudden really feel capable of discuss it? Or are they simply softening us up, as a result of they’re about to spring one thing even worse on us?
